A mix of sound and valuable content, the band presents a fresh and powerful track delivering a clear message.
Orchestra Mancina is the band we have followed the most over the years; in fact, we have been handling their technical management for both live shows and studio work since 2011.
Last year we produced their first album of unreleased tracks: “Emusicon”, a work that achieved great success with the sale of over 2000 copies. We were honored to produce the recording and mixing of this great piece of work with them, and as always we dedicated our hearts to this project, and today we are proud to present “UNA STORIA D’ESTATE” to our members, a track accompanied by a music video.
The song features Orchestra Mancina’s unmistakable reggae/ska style, and we, as always, tried to give it a powerful and fresh sound, keeping in mind the Italian market which still seems to prefer this type of sound. It was also fun to mix the tracks using an analog/digital hybrid system: a method that satisfies both the desire for analog depth and warmth, and the definition and surgical precision of the digital system. The result is appreciable in various aspects; it has a precise soundstage and the overall timbre evokes and recalls the live setting, where the band expresses itself best. Even though the recording was done via overdubs, the groove feels like it was captured live.
The track featured special guests such as Antonio Oliveti on percussion and Manlio Calafrocampano on vocals. In this regard too, Orchestra Mancina outdid themselves: two well-considered collaborations that greatly enhanced the artistic value of the song.
The theme addressed is highly topical and, despite the upbeat and carefree music, the lyrics tackle the tragedy of immigration, the victims who continue to perish in our seas, and the many children who unfortunately end their journey at the bottom of the sea. Despite the tragic reality represented by the journey undertaken by migrants, a wonderful message of hope shines through, for a world where it is still possible to have no mental barriers, capable of looking beyond.
