We are publishing this article a bit late, and we apologize.
We wish all our friends and members a year full of music and new artistic paths.
2017 brought us a series of satisfactions, and we can be happy to have accompanied various members toward important milestones. We had the pleasure of seeing many friends sign contracts with record labels and publishers, and knowing that the work done together led to success only makes us proud, even more so when starting from a difficult reality like the city of Taranto.
Let’s start with the first work presented in 2017, the official CD of Orchestra Mancina, “Emusicon”. The crazy band from Massafra has been committed for years to making all Italian squares dance with their ska reggae. The studio experience was incredible, hard but fun at the same time. What emerges from the band’s first CD, is how the guys knew how to reinvent themselves, tackle new and current themes, proposing different musical genres without ever leaving their basic matrix.
Now let’s move on to an artist historically tied precisely to Orchestra Mancina, our own Giuseppe D’Amato, who with the track “Passo dopo passo” signed a record deal with Rusty Records. With Giuseppe we also created some video covers, which can be viewed on his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcfV9mcWeszBS15WwuLh9BA
A big thank you, Giuseppe, we wish you to make it big!
The singer-songwriter experience was perfected with the creation of a wonderful track with Studio82, a song that accompanies a great video clip, “Le cose per bene”, mixed in association and mastered by Tommaso Bianchi of White Mastering Studio: “Le cose Per Bene”
With our brothers Studio82 we have very interesting future projects and we can’t wait to start this journey together.
During the year we accomplished other important paths, certainly one of the most significant in the rock field was the one with Mother Nature for the album “Double Deal”. We have written several times on our blog about the exceptional feeling established with the band, we wanted our hand to be felt in the sound and we believe we succeeded, excellent reviews are pouring in; the great Andromeda Relix distributed the album impeccably. Mother Nature has left their mark on the Italian Hard Rock Blues proposal and we are proud to have been part of the team. The cherry on top of the album is undoubtedly the mastering done by Mark Urselli, one of the best sound engineers in the world.
From Luca Nappo’s powerful electric guitars, we moved on to the refinement and genius of our friend Andrea Musci. We mixed his first album, “Succede qualcosa”, distributed by the Apulian label Angapp Music, which also handled the mastering. With Andrea we spent pleasant moments, also strengthening a friendship, our post-mix pucce are unforgettable.
Concluded Andrea’s work, we dabbled in another significant experience, which saw our “sound engineer” become an integral part of the artistic production of a crazy emerging band. We are talking about Aeren and their first album BREAKTHRU! The work involved us particularly, and it was important to see that guys so determined placed total trust in us. Together we created a personal sound, analog mixing allowed us to give character, everyone’s ideas merged in harmony, and the result will soon be appreciated; the CD is in fact coming out in the early days of March 2018, and in this case too an important label has captured our friends, Sliptrick Records. Another prestigious cherry on top, we did the mastering at Maestà Studio, the work was done by Giovanni Versari—little needs to be said, he won the awards with Muse’s track Drones.
A great novelty in our journey is represented by an incredible band, Moinè! The meeting with the guys brought great mutual growth, and the result was excellent, Closer To Me, a track mixed and mastered in association, distributed by Ego Music, a record label of the highest standing in the genre and which clearly signed talents like Moinè.
After the Moinè parenthesis, we realized that the current unreleased music scene is turning towards new styles, so we started a path with a great and talented producer, “Salvatore Versace”, mixing and mastering his Trap Beats, not to mention the mastering of “Vacca” with its hundreds of thousands of views. In addition to “Saver”, another mysterious character from the Trap crew wanted our mix/mastering: FURCE’, an artist who in his anonymity created a suggestive video clip: ù Pescator.
In store for 2018 are nine important collaborations, but we will certainly talk about them during the year.
We also want to mention our participation as live sound engineers in important local festivals such as Taranto Rock Festival, Cinzella Festival, and Andrea Chimenti’s Bowie tribute. On this front too we are committed to improving the spread of musical culture in all its forms, with a watchful eye on independent unreleased realities.
A small associative reality in southern Italy is making a difference, offering support and heart to local bands and artists; in various ways their path has improved, reaching promising scenarios. We at the StudioGaudio association, with the utmost humility, want to grow and become increasingly present. We leave you with our year-end video, follow us and do not hesitate to contact us if you want to combine your ideas with ours.
